The district administration has seized various types of narcotics, including illegal domestic and foreign liquor, during a raid at Bhawal Resort in Gazipur. Six people have been arrested in the incident. A case has been filed against them.
The arrested persons are Zahidul Islam (34), Faizul Islam Khan (35), Iftiar Kasem Charli (30), Jihad Ahmed (19), Redwan Hasan Chowdhury (33) and Abir Hossain (23).
Law enforcement and members of the Narcotics Control Department, led by the district administration, conducted a raid on the resort located in the Naljani area of Gazipur Sadar Upazila on Friday night. At that time, a DJ party was going on there.
According to the Deputy Commissioner’s office, illegal liquor and various types of drugs were seized from the resort during an overnight raid. Six people involved in the incident were arrested during the raid. 9 ecstasy, 5 grams of kush, 165 grams of cannabis chocolate, 101 beers and 3 bottles of vodka were seized as evidence from them.
Gazipur Senior Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md. Abubakar Siddique said that the operation was conducted based on secret information. Such operations will continue.
Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md. Faisal and members of the law enforcement agencies were present during the operation.
Emdadul Islam, deputy director of the Narcotics Control Department, said that a DJ party was organized at the resort yesterday. Various drugs were supplied to the young people who participated there. Zahidul Alam rented the resort for this event.
