Ekram’s murder was a meticulous design by Badi: Chief Prosecutor

The murder of former Teknaf municipal councilor Ekramul Haque was a result of the meticulous design of ousted former Awami League MP Abdur Rahman Badir, said Aminul Islam, Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal.

He made the remarks at a briefing after submitting an investigation report to the tribunal against 11 people, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was ousted in a mass uprising, in the Ekramul Haque murder case on Sunday (July 26).

Apart from Hasina, the others charged are – Home Minister of the ousted government Asaduzzaman Kamal, Obaidul Quader, Abdur Rahman Bodi, then Director General of RAB Benazir Ahmed, Colonel (retd) Anwar Latif Khan Tushar, Brigadier General Mahbub Alam Minu, Brigadier General Miftah Uddin Ahmed, Major (retd) Ruhul Amin alias Rajan, Squadron Leader Nazmus Mahmud alias Raju and Lieutenant Commander Ashikur Rahman alias Saikat.

Among them, Abdur Rahman Badi, Anwar Latif Khan and Mahbub Alam are currently detained in other cases.
