Water Resources Minister and BNP Joint Secretary General Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annie has said he does not trust the current style of politics of the National Citizens Party (NCP). He said he has also expressed his position on this issue in Parliament.
He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a reception for young lawyers organized by the District Nationalist Lawyers Forum at a Chinese restaurant in Lakshmipur town on Sunday (July 26) evening.
The Water Resources Minister said, “I have said in Parliament that we have never adopted the mentality of engaging in student politics in the style in which the NCP, which has introduced itself as the new generation, is doing politics.”
He said, “Leading a movement means having the mindset of keeping the country united with everyone. But now many have moved away from that position.”
Annie said, “You can’t do student politics if you only think about yourself. You can’t lead the new generation if you only think about yourself.”
Leadership requires a liberal mindset, big thinking, and responsible behavior. But we are not seeing the leadership that people expect in that space.
