After scoring big runs with the bat of Saif Hasan and Tanjid Hasan, Bangladesh secured a 34-run victory on the back of a whirlwind knock by Rishad Hossain and Sheikh Mehedi Hasan to level the three-match T20 series 1-1.
Bangladesh batted first and scored 186 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the second T20I in Harare on Friday (July 17).
In reply, Zimbabwe were bowled out for 152 runs with two balls remaining.
Rishad, who didn’t get a chance in the first match, returned to the team and bowled the match-winning innings.
This leg-spinner took 4 wickets for 26 runs in 3.4 overs. Sheikh Mehedi was also excellent.
Despite being outclassed in the first over, he came back brilliantly and took 4 wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs.
Chasing a target of 187 runs, Zimbabwe were under pressure from the start. Sheikh Mehidy dismissed Dion Myers in the second over. In the next over, Nahid was bowled by Brian Bennett at the pace of a runner. Then, Sikandar Raja and Milton Shumba showed signs of coming back into the match with a 44-run partnership, but Rishad broke that partnership. After dismissing Raja, who had scored 28 runs off 12 balls, he bowled Shumba in his next over.
