Due to the lack of supervision, illegal structures have been built on government land, and most of the markets in Aditmari, Lalmonirhat are located on Eidgah grounds, rented land and next to roads. This has had a major impact on business and commerce as well as government revenue collection.
It is known that one of the revenue sources of the upazila is the lease of markets and markets. The government collects revenue through the annual lease of about fifty markets and markets in the eight unions of the upazila.
Although a portion of the lease money is supposed to be used to develop the markets, in reality, it is limited to paper and pen. Most of the government land in the markets is now illegally occupied.
Drains, tubewells, and bathrooms are also not free from encroachment. The lack of water and waste disposal systems has created an unhealthy environment throughout the market.
