The government has sent 33 officers of the Bangladesh Police rank of DIG, Additional DIG and Superintendent of Police on compulsory retirement.
This was announced in a notification issued by the Police-1 Branch of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday (July 5).
Senior Secretary Manjur Morshed Chowdhury signed the notification.
According to the notification, the officers sent to retirement are:
1. Mollah Nazrul Islam, BPM (Bar), PPM (Bar) (BP-7301020840), DIG, BPA, Sarada, attached to Rajshahi (currently arrested).
2. Md. Saiful Islam, BPM (BP-6901106535), DIG, Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Public Security Division, Ministry of Home Affairs, Dhaka (currently under arrest).
3. Miraj Uddin Ahmed, PPM-Services (BP-7401027864), DIG, attached to Sylhet Range Office.
