Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman has called on the countrymen to unite to thwart any attempt to hinder the democratic progress of Bangladesh. He made the warning at a public meeting organized in Paltan in the capital on the occasion of International Workers’ Day on May 1.
The Prime Minister clearly stated that whenever the country starts moving towards democracy, certain circles start weaving a web of conspiracy. Especially after the 12th, when the country is moving in the right direction with the mandate of the people, they have engaged in a despicable attempt to make Bangladesh friendless in the outside world.
Referring to the failure of the conspirators, Tarique Rahman said, “The world community is expressing its interest in working shoulder to shoulder with the people’s elected government rather than listening to any propaganda. Foreign countries are extending their support to increase investment in Bangladesh and improve the living standards of workers.”
He also said that every conspiracy of those who want to create anarchy in the country and make the state controversial must be answered through conscious citizens.
Showing special respect to the workers, the Prime Minister declared himself as a craftsman in building the country. He mentioned that just as construction workers or garment workers are building the country with their labor, his cabinet is also engaged in the work of building the country.
At the end of the rally, he urged everyone present to play a strong role not just as ordinary citizens, but also as dedicated workers in building the country.
