As the 2026 World Cup draws to a close, Morocco is rapidly moving forward with one of the most ambitious projects in football history: the Grand Hassan II Stadium, which is being built on the outskirts of Casablanca.
When construction of this stadium, which began in August 2024, is complete, it will have a seating capacity of 115,000, making it the largest football stadium in the world.
Morocco has made this huge bet primarily with the aim of hosting the final match of the 2030 World Cup on its own soil. It is worth noting that the 2030 World Cup will be jointly hosted by Morocco, Spain and Portugal.
