Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon on Tuesday called upon the students to participate in sports and other extracurricular activities to foster their mental growth and creative potential alongside textbook-based education.
He emphasised that replacing intimidation and harsh discipline with a friendly approach toward students would help nurture a confident and creative generation.
The minister made the remarks while addressing a ceremony of sports equipment and tree saplings distribution for educational institutions, organized by the upazila administration at the Gournadi Upazila Parishad Auditorium in Barishal.
