The government has waived off one month’s installments and interest on microloans of flood-affected women entrepreneurs in Bandarban. There are plans to extend the period of this facility further in the future, said Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, State Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs and Land.
He made this statement while speaking as the chief guest at a relief distribution ceremony among flood victims organized by the Bandarban Hill District Council at the Zilla Parishad Rest House premises on Friday (July 17) morning.
The State Minister said the government is continuing post-flood rehabilitation activities.
The affected people will be rehabilitated on priority basis. In addition, assistance to affected farmers, free vaccination of livestock in flood-affected areas, and special measures are being taken for fishermen.
