According to a report by Indian media outlet Aaj Kal In , the actor lost both his parents at the age of 14. Orphaned as a teenager, the star had to drop out of school due to financial reasons.
When Arshad Warsi was in the tenth grade, the orphaned actor was faced with financial difficulties. He was forced to drop out of school and start selling cosmetics from door to door.
In a recent podcast, Arshad said that he doesn’t have many memories of his family because he spent most of his childhood in boarding school. After his father’s death, his mother, a housewife, developed kidney failure. The doctors said not to give him water. But he kept asking for water. I wouldn’t give it to him.
The actor said,
My mother called me the night before she died. She started asking for water again. That night she died, I completely broke down. Sometimes I think, if I had given her water; she would still have died. But all my life I thought, she died because of me.
During his short school life, he had the opportunity to learn dance and singing. However, he learned most of it himself. After his father died, he used to perform in various music shows. He used to earn Rs 175 from each show. Life was very difficult with the expenses of the house, bills and his mother’s treatment.

After his mother died, Arshad also stayed in an orphanage for some time. His fortunes changed in 1991. He became the champion in a dance competition. In 1993, he got the opportunity to choreograph the title song of the movie ‘Roop Ki Rani Chori Ki Raja’. It was at this time that Bollywood’s famous actress Jaya Bachchan offered him a role in a movie.
In 1996, Arshad got a chance in the film ‘Tere Mere Swapne’ produced by the Bachchan family’s production company. However, his life changed in 2003 when he acted in Rajkumar Hirani’s film ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’. The character of ‘Circuit’ in this film changed the course of his career. Along with popularity, his career also received awards. After that, he did not have to look back.
