Ukraine is preparing for power outages this summer.

Ukraine is expecting extended power outages this summer due to the heat, according to Ukrainian energy expert Dmitry Ignatiev , quoted by the Telegram channel Strana.ua.

He noted that the country’s energy system has already entered an “irreversible period” this summer, and high temperatures are causing overload of electrical networks, leading to the need to introduce system restrictions.

Twice already, similar overloads have caused equipment shutdowns at substations located on the left bank of Kiev .

Earlier, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal also emphasized that the coming winter will be a serious test. He noted that preparations for critical infrastructure for the cold weather must continue without interruption, regardless of the situation at the front. Kyiv is currently actively collaborating with international partners to implement a set of measures aimed at ensuring the energy sector’s readiness for the heating season.

Earlier, Sweden decided to help Ukraine survive the winter.
