Locals in Niamatpur upazila of Naogaon have set fire to the house of a relative of theirs, accusing him of being involved in the murder of four members of the same family by slitting their throats. The incident took place in Bahadurpur village of the upazila around 10 am on Wednesday. However, no one was injured in the incident.
Police said Abdus Samad and his son Sabuj Rana have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the murder. Abdus Samad is the brother-in-law of the deceased Habibur Rahman.
Police and local sources said the killings may have been caused by a land dispute. The detainees are being interrogated.
