Human chain demanding raising the employment age limit for people with disabilities to 35 years

A human chain has been formed demanding the age limit for people with disabilities to be raised to 35 years for entering government jobs. The program was held in front of the National Press Club at 10 am today, Monday, under the banner of ‘Job Seekers Disabled Graduate Council’.

Speakers at the human chain said that earlier the age limit for entering government jobs for general candidates was 30 years and for disabled people was 32 years. Now that the age limit has been set at 32 years for general candidates, it is a fair and timely demand to set the age limit at least 35 years for disabled people.Read more

Ali Hossain, convener of the Job-Seeking Disabled Graduate Council, said, “After the birth of a disabled child, the family has to struggle for treatment, rehabilitation, transportation, education and social barriers. As a result, disabled people naturally take longer than others to complete their education. But when they finish their studies and find that the age limit for applying for jobs has expired, they are plunged into extreme despair.”Read more
